I marinaded chicken overnight in buttermilk is that ok?

All the better for it! I agree with all above. Marinating it in buttermilk or yogurt makes it the moistest most delicious thing ever!

There are so many great recipes to try and I'm sure many on this site. Although this one is from a different site, it is one I use all the time and it is absolutely delicious! if you're doing fried chicken. It's even better at 2 days.

One of my favorite oven-fried chicken recipe has chicken that marinates for 24 hours in a buttermilk mixture. Doesn't affect the texture adversely and has fabulous flavor. Again it is refrigerated.

As long as it was refrigerated, it should be fine.
