I live for Joanne Chang's banana bread from her Flour cookbook! While I normally just sprinkle the top with a layer of granulated sugar (for some crunch), one could easily slap a frosting or icing on it. I personally wouldn't put a "frosting" on a banana bread, but a simple buttermilk, maple, or chocolate glaze would be delicious. You could then do another sprinkling of toasted walnuts for some excellent texture.
Not exactly what you're looking for, but useful...yes makes banana bread, but check out the list of ingredients which allows you to substitute anything on hand or that you prefer, from apples to zucchini, for the bananas.

For frosting, two classics, your choice - chocolate buttercream or cream cheese icing. Many recipes out there for both.
One suggestion for the cream cheese icing - add a bit of lemon zest or lemon juice to brighten the flavor.
