Which part of Brooklyn?

Where the cool young people are (I will have two teens with me) AND someplace near subway to Manhattan... I am thinking of driving to somewhere in Brooklyn and parking. I'm not sure if I should plan around place for dinner or easy parking (does that exist?) Thanks for any advice!
