Is it a good or bad idea to shave asparagus and let it marinate in a red wine vinaigrette overnight? I do it with kale all the time but would the asparagus look sad the next day?

Asparagus isn't as sturdy as kale so it'll break down quite a bit more than kale. I imagine marinating shaved asparagus overnight might produce something mushy. Asparagus chunks might hold up better.
