Yes, if you don't have ingredients or means to make pesto from scratch.
But note..,
This recipe uses cashew cream in its pesto instead of Parmesan and pignoli.
Commercial Genoese Pesto will likely have both.

Also this recipe doesn't contain olive oil which will also be In Store bought pesto as well as salt and pepper. Proceed carefully
