can you use synthetic sugar, I am diabetic

I am looking at things like SPLENDA AND SUGAR ALTERNATIVE BUT DON`T KNOW IF I NEED TO USE SOME LIKE CORN STARCH TO ADD A THICKENING AGENT. I AM MAKING COFFEE CREAM CHOCOLATES.

I can't answer your question, but an alternative would be to find recipes that are similar, but already use sugar alternatives. If you do a Google search and use words like keto and diabetic in your search, you should pull up a lot of recipes. You may be able to use their techniques to alter the recipe you have.
