im new to cooking. i was making cutlets on a tray. when i was done i went to clean oven and found burnt plastic spatula, cutlets safe to eat?

It's unclear where it was that you found the spatula. In the oven? on the tray with the cutlets? The burnt plastic would surely have leached chemicals into the air of the oven, if that's where you"found" it. Clarify a bit, please.
