Do I need to blind bake a hot water crust before adding a quiche filling?

I would, because you aren't baking a quiche for very long or at a sufficient temperature. Do you have to? No. I make a deep dish quiche and I've had success with not par cooking the crust. It is deep dish though, so it takes about an hour.
