baking choc chip cookies, they came out flat. Too much butter, how do I fix this batch?

In this case, adding more flour will help balance out the butter, but ideally you would add the same ratio of ingredients for how much extra butter you used—that is, more flour, more baking soda or powder, more sugars, more salt, etc. Mix that all up until fully incorporated and give it a go!
