Look up USDA nutrition data base, which gives not only nutrients, but also portion sizes and average weight for foods as they are sold.
According to this (http://www.cooksinfo.com...), 1 medium avocado is approximately 230 grams pitted, so that would be 460 grams for this recipe, or 1.5-2 cups mashed.
I'm pretty sure I've never seen an avocado that would yield that much volume mashed- maybe 1 cup.
Whoops, sorry for not being clear--the 1.5-2 cups mashed is for 2 avocados, so 3/4-1 cup mashed per avocado.
Where on earth did you get a density figure for avocado flesh?
