Did dark brown sugar get lighter in recent years? I remember it as very dark, and what I now buy as dark brown looks like what we used to call light.

I noticed that as well. Can't find an answer as to why except the darker it is, the more molasses in the sugar. Could be it's been adjusted to accommodate todays recipes?
