i would start researching ways to use thin runny custard sauce. maybe treat it like a creme anglaise. maybe top a serving w/ a scoop of strawberries mixed w/ balsamic vngr.

Probably a tangier flavor and softer consistency. Which is not necessarily a bad thing ;)
