Hi I have a James Martin recipe for pickled vegetables and the recipe includes 1/4 moult, sliced. Any idea what a moult is?

Thanks Lori and Smaug. Checked re the mooli, and you are correct.
Makes much more sense now, and I probably should have thought of that, as I eat daikon. It is served in Japanese restaurants as a pickle here in Australia.
Responses much appreciated.

I suspect what you have there is a typo, and the vegetable in question is "mooli", or a daikon radish. I may have also mispelled it, and I'm not sure which Indian language it comes from specifically. As daikons can be quite large in size, slicing such a small amount would make sense.

I think "mouli"- you're almost certainly right.
