How do you shuck corn and get most of the silk hairs off?

Actually the easiest way I've found to get string off corn on the cob is to steam it in the husk- either on the stove, the grill, or the microwave. You can supposedly do it in the oven as well, though I've never done it that way. Once the corn is cooked, the strings come away easily with the husk and you avoid the whole challenge. No more flossing with corn silk!

If you scroll down the Food52 home page, you will find an article on the subject that appeared a day or two back, and lots of tips in the comments. I mostly just grit my teeth and do it- most of it you can just grab and pull off, and a small brush will help to raise, if not remove, those that are tightly attached.
