How do you measure 1 cup of Cool Whip for the Watergate Salad?

Sounds like a dumb question, but do I scoop out a cup or do I use the 8 oz tub of frozen Cool Whip? I'm sure that tomorrow the answer will come to me, but I need help today, please.

Scoop out the cup of Cool Whip. You will have to thaw first. An 8 oz container holds quite a bit more of the topping than a cup... that stuff if almost lighter than air.
