Is there a non-spicy version for kids?
My daughter was so excited to try this, but the douban made it too spicy for her. Could I leave it out? Is there something else that is not spicy that I should substitute it with?

• add whole Sichuan (Szechuan) peppers to my shop list.
• make the recipe WITHOUT the douban
• crush some of the Sichuan peppers at home (pepper mill, mortar and pestle, blender or in a sealed bag pounded with something heavy).
• serve the soup with the Sichuan pepper at table in a separate container
• them as wants can add some of that now-crushed pepper to taste; them as doesn't can omit.
