I recently learned what a "Granton" edge is - I'd seen them before, but did not know how they work, or that they were first introduced by the Granton Company (knifesmiths in Sheffield, England since 1601). More importantly, I learned that they are great for slicing cakes! (Food52 editors, I think there's an article here . . . . ) ;o)
