If heavy cream isn't normally in the fridge, which is a better substitute in the "marinade": 2 Tbsp sour cream, or (full-fat) yogurt?

Perhaps you can mix 1 Tbsp. sour cream with 1 Tbsp regular milk, and use that instead.

the recipe says you can substitute yoghurt, so go for it.

Are those your only two choices? Both sour cream and yogurt have a pronounced tang to them that isn’t really what you want in this recipe.
