I am assuming that because the recipe calls for butter, rather than specifying unsalted butter, it means salted butter, hence salt is omitted as a separate ingredient. I personally prefer to use unsalted butter in most recipes so that I can control the amount of salt, and IMHO baked goods taste better with a bit of salt to round out the flavors, but I cannot recommend a specific amount for this recipe, as I have not made it.
without even looking at the recipe, i will comment that SALT is put in everything in this dumb country. everyone supports that, blindly or not, but it is not necessary.
