Help! Is my sourdough starter alright? I've attached 2 photos.
I've been making mine since January 1st but suddenly it's doing this after only one day in the frigde? I was feeding it every 4-5 days and it's been fine?!?! Any input is much appreciated. βπΌ

I only see one photo that's a top shot. Is it rising, and bubbly all the way through or is only the top bubbly? So until now, you kept it at room temp and fed every 4-5 days, or it's been in the fridge the whole time but it suddenly got frothy?

Oh! I uploaded 2. It has been a refrigerated starter. Sorry I wasn't clear - I've never done this before! When I feed it - I leave it on the counter for about 2 hours then refrigerate. It usually takes maybe 4 days for it to look like this - but this photo is after 1 day.

Sorry it's still a little hard for me to tell from this pic. Is it runny (it looks runny to me)? Was it runny because of the amount of liquid you added when you refreshed it, or did was it more firm and then suddenly became runny? Does it smell different than what you're used to? To me, that looks too frothy. Typically a good starter will look like a cross section of bread dough.
I'd feed again, leaving it at room temperature until it fully doubles, and feed it one more time before putting back in the fridge. Since it's evening that might not be possible right now, but basically you want to feed/refresh it a few times and see if you can sort of reset it, and yeast likes room temp. If it doesn't get a normal rise, I'd say something bad (most likely a mold, or maybe some harmful bacteria) got in there and you might have to start again.

In our back an forths it didn't sink in that you're a Stephanie too! I want to thank you for responding. IT'S OK!!! I fed it again - put it in a glass jar this time (was a Tupperware before) and it's doing ππΌππΌππΌ (knocking on wood) well! Again I thank you so much for your time and apologize that it took me a bit to respond. βπΌ
