Can you substitute brown basmati rice for white in Samin Nosrat's recipe

Question

for Persian-ish rice.  Please advise.  Any direction would be helpful.

Since brown rice has such a different cooking time, it would be hard to ensure that the rice steams before it burns; I wouldn't recommend it.
