Texture/taste question regarding lacinato kale

Does anyone ever notice when they chew kale, it becomes slimy? I just got some fresh organic lacinato kale yesterday, made a salad, and noted it’s texture. It is kind of grossing me out:( just wanted to make sure it’s not a problem with the kale. Thanks!

Just to clarify...when you prepare it, are you noticing any sliminess? Or just after/as you chew it?

It definitely shouldn’t be slimy as you prepare it. In fact I find it feels very dry, almost papery sometimes.

Lacinato kale should not be slimy. Was it stored in a plastic bag too long?
