Most effective thirst quencher ever

Anyone remember a discussion by reader whose sister made a thirst quenching drink, beloved by "road crews" and outside summer workers, using vinegar and maple syrup? Can't find it in my search of the Food52 site. Need it desparately for fall harvest of our community farm
