I am sorry Irina, I still have the toaster but it is at our summer place. I keep it for sentimental reasons, I have never used it. When I am there again I will look and try to post on this thread. She got it as a wedding gift in the 1930’s. I had to get the cord replaced for her once and she called me every morning for a week to tell me how much she missed it and how superior it was to the one I loaned her. Good luck with your toaster!
Almost all toasters have a removable crumb tray at the bottom that you can pull out for cleaning. That should do the trick. Some people toast raisin bread or bagels other sweet, sticky breads that can cause the toaster to smell or smoke. I have found the easiest way to clean this is outdoors if you can, just plug the toaster in and set to the longest time, repeat until the smell or smoke has stopped and then clean the ash from the tray. Toasters should last a long time, my great aunt used her toaster daily for 75 years.
