split pea soup for a winter day... is this soup suppose to be blended at the end?

Thank you both. I did blend it. Tasted good but the color was off.

Glad to hear it tasted good. Color of this soup can often be off. Boost color and texture contrast with recommended garnishes and/or bright green fresh soft herb (parsley, dill), sliced sausage or hot dogs, croutons.

I agree with Nancy. Me, I use an immersion blender to smooth out the soup. You DO need to make sure that the split peas are completely cooked... crunchy bits are not part of this recipe....LOL!

Whichever texture you prefer...all chunky, all blended smooth, or some of each.
