Glad to hear it tasted good. Color of this soup can often be off. Boost color and texture contrast with recommended garnishes and/or bright green fresh soft herb (parsley, dill), sliced sausage or hot dogs, croutons.
I agree with Nancy. Me, I use an immersion blender to smooth out the soup. You DO need to make sure that the split peas are completely cooked... crunchy bits are not part of this recipe....LOL!
