I only have flavored vodka - could I use gin or another alcohol?

I actually don’t like vodka so we don’t keep much of any - but have a pretty full bar otherwise if there was a substitute that could work?

Vodka helps pasta sauce concentrate and emulsify.
You could use a flavored vodka or other clear liquor that is compatible with the sauce.
I would avoid gin (too many herbs and botanicals) and deeply flavored or sweetened liqueurs.
In a pinch, plain brandy would be ok.
