Can I use the green parts of a leek for flavor?

If I am using the white part of a leek in a soup recipe, could I tie the green parts and use them as a flavor bundle, removing them before serving - would that add good flavor? I hate to waste them.

yes. You can also wash and slice the green parts, and either put them in a tea bag tied with kitchen twine or tea ball for easy removal, or freeze them for later use.

Sure. You can also freeze the leftover green parts and any vegetable scraps to make vegetable stock later.
