Replacement ingredient - kasuri methi

There are many other herbs & spices in this dish, so yes you could leave the kasuri methi out.
If you have fenugreek seeds, use enough 1/3 the amount recommended for the dried leaves.
If you have fresh fenugreek leaves, use about 3x the measure of dried.
