It is recipe dependent, but in general, you cannot substitute almond flour for AP in recipes. Almond flour has no gluten which provides the structure and texture to most baked goods. Better off using a recipe that was designed around almond flour then try and convert any AP recipe to use almond flour. 99.9% of the time, it will not work.
It depends on the recipe. If a baked item needs the gluten in AP flour for structure or texture, almond flour may not be a good choice. In many instances, however, almond flour serves as a fine substitute.
