What’s a good Substitution for pine nuts?

I’m allergic to pine nuts. What’s a good substitute for them in this recipe? Walnuts? Pistachios? Sesame? It looks so delicious!

In addition to the good suggestions so far, use any good nut or olive oil you have...as pine nuts are about 2/3 fat by volume, use 4 tsp for the 2 tbsp (6 tsp) pine nuts in the recipe.

This recipe only calls for 2 tablespoons of pine nuts. It isn't worth going to the store to buy a replacement.

I would just use something already in my pantry. I almost always have almonds and walnuts on hand. I think macadamia nuts would be a reasonable alternative but I rarely have them in my house. Same with hazelnuts and peanuts.

I would use toasted walnuts, no question about that. I often substitute them for pine nuts, especially in Ottolenghi recipes! Be sure to toast the nuts, as that will make all the difference in the world. ;o)
