would plastic deli quart containers work for this?

i can't imagine they get as cold as something metal but curious if this would work as it'd be perfect for storage. thanks!

Yes! I've used deli containers many times for ice cream storage.

Who knew!? That's interesting - and so helpful. Thanks for weighing in. ;o)

One might be concerned, however, that the deli container would not be sturdy / stiff enough to allow you to scoop the ice cream from it without considerable difficulty or even breaking it. For that reason, I probably wouldn't go that route. I'd use a sturdy 4 - 5 cup storage container instead. ;o)

AJ - fair enough.
M Sharpe - if/when you make the ice cream, please tell us what you use to store it and how the container(s) worked.
Also, in the recycling dept - if you use canned pumpkin, maybe use one or more cans to store it (top with cling film or silicone lids).

It might take longer than the specified 6 hours to freeze, but I think it would work.
I would also place the ice cream deep in the freezer with other frozen foods around it to speed things up.
