Granulated sugar - 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons or 1 cup plus 2 teaspoons?
List of ingredients calls for 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar but the steps use 1 cup of granulated sugar in the cake and the "remaining 2 teaspoons" in the whipped cream. Am I missing something?

The 2 tablespoons/teaspoons of sugar is used to sweeten the whipped cream to be plopped on top.
Ignore the recipe quantity and just add as much as desired for your tastes.

That looks like operator error in loading the recipe. I'd start with two teaspoons and then taste it. Does it need more? Add a little more, perhaps a bit at a time, because the right amount of sweetness in a case like this is always simply a matter of taste. ;o)
