No lid.

A lid defeats the purpose of the four incisions on the top. They exist to vent excess moisture from the filling. If you leave the lid on you will get a soggy crust because all of the moisture that is trying to escape gets trapped in the covered Dutch oven.

The recipe isn’t clear, but I think I’d bake it with the lid off.
