This repeatedly crops up here at Food52 every few months. This is not site-specific behavior, if you find anything worth revisiting on the Internet, it's wise to make a separate local copy because things often disappear for whatever reason (*cough* LuckyPeach.com *cough*).
This means if you use the Food52 save/favorite recipe function, just be aware that any of those recipes you might have collected can vanish without warning.
Don't trust online services either like the defunct Google Notes.
I usually export as a PDF and save in a folder on my computer. Some of them are copied to a word processing document that I can annotate with my own notes in the same way that I pencil in comments on my dead trees cookbooks sitting on my bookshelves.
Note: if you have the URL, sometimes you can find an archived copy at the Internet Wayback Machine but never ever count on this.
