Making the filling and frosting ahead?

Hi there! I'm so excited to try this. I'm going to make the cake layers and freeze ahead of time. Is it possible to do the filling and frosting and refrigerate for 2 days? Or best to just do day of?

I just saw Jessie’s comment about not refrigerating the filling, but I think that was in response to someone who tried to frost right away. If I gave it plenty of time to come to room temp, would it be ok? Actually, I think I’ll just make it day of. I don’t want to risk it. I’m so excited for this recipe, Jessie! It’s such a sentimental cake for our family, and I can’t wait to have a from-scratch recipe to follow. I’m making it for my sister’s birthday. A childhood favorite :)

Yay! So glad you’re excited about this. And you can make ahead as long as you bring to room temp before using. But I realize this comment may be too late to help you!
