Directions for ramekin preparation

Hi-With regards to the ramekins, should I layer the eggplant strips in the ramekin, fill with pasta and bechemel and fold the eggplant “flaps” over, bake and invert? In other words, I don’t have multiple layers in the ramekin, correct?
