Help! My Kitchen-Aid is squealing

My beloved Kitchen-Aid needs to be oiled or otherwise serviced. Makes a horrible squealing/squeaking noise. Advice on how to fix it or who can fix it?? TYIA, Food52 community…

You can grease the mixer yourself, if you are willing to take on the task. There are a ton of videos on YouTube which show how to do just that. On the other hand, if you are like me and not really mechanically gifted- seek out an appliance repair shop or small motor repair shop and ask if they are willing to take on the task. Most should be able to. As a last resort, KitchenAid themselves have "authorized" repair shops where you can get the job done. You can find a list of those at the KitchenAid website. Whichever way you decide to go, it's worth the investment of time and money.

Thank you! I’d seen the Kitchen-Aid service, but had to ship it, etc — was going to be a small fortune and gone awhile. Will check out your suggestions….
