Cooking pot roast on stove...why did it rise to the top of the water

Hey Tracy, the question seems a bit unclear to me, but are you meaning that the roast floated to the top of the water? As long as the roast pan remains covered you are fine, since then you are steaming the roast and therefore braising the meat. Hope this helps.
