Substitute for thyme please thank you

Untraditional but possible- dry leafy herbs like oregano, parsley or basil.

Cumin is also sometimes used in za'atar. Or you could try dried mint or add fresh (which I think I’d like better… dried mint can be pretty bland sometimes).

Just substitute with a herb you know your dinner guests will enjoy. We don't know who they are nor their specific preferences so you will be the best judge.
