Thank you for your advice. Before I had chance to see it I took the plunge! I set oven at 145 degrees C and slowly cooked for a couple of hours, keeping the dish covered with some foil to keep the moisture in. Came out great - chicken lovely and tender and curry sauce rich and tasty. Think it was actually better than when originally cooked! Thanks again for your advice.
I generally prefer to reheat these sort of dishes in a saucepan on low heat over the stove even if it takes a little longer.
If you are determined to use your microwave, your best course of action would be to read the owner's manual for your microwave oven. Each model is different however all microwaves made in the last 30-40 years have some sort of defrost setting. The defrost setting usually runs at a lower power output than the default setting. The manual should give you some guidance on the initial time settings to try.

But yes, you can reheat the frozen curry in the oven. It will take about twice as long as if you started from defrosted curry from the fridge.
