My husband doesn't like chocolate but is a coffee fan and LOVED this cake. But my cake fell apart after it was cooled

When I tried to transfer it to the service plate, it was very tricky, especially in the center where it had collapsed. Did I not cook it enough?

That sounds right. I find that it helps, too, to chill squidgy cakes like this in the fridge for at least 3 - 4 hours for greater stability, though I don't believe I've ever done that for this one. So sorry you had problems - but I'm glad your hubby liked the cake! ;o)
