What's to be done with the nuts?

After the hazelnuts are soaked, are they just discarded? They would be too soggy to eat etc...

Yes, there is a recipe for hazelnut yeast bread that requires the nuts to be soaked... I was looking at both recipes & queried the wrong one.
I plan on making THIS recipe today.

Sounds tasty.
If you do have leftover milk-soaked hazelnuts, I would use them in some sweet dairy dish - on ice cream, or in a smoothie.

I don’t see where in the recipe the hazelnuts are soaked.
