Curious about the white wine basting

Hi, I’m excited to try this recipe on Thursday. I’m just curious about the white wine and how it plays into the roasting. I’ll definitely be using it - for the turkey and myself - and just want to know the benefit. I’ve never seen it in a recipe before and am excited to try it!

Hi! I haven't tried this exact recipe, but I've tried the wine thing before. I found that the wine helped the skin brown and caramelize really nicely. (Maybe the sugar in the wine helped out with that?) I think any dry white wine would be great. That's my unofficial report :)
