Caroline style mustard bbq sauce help!

Hi folks! Im new to this community and love the idea of asking others home chefs for their input as i develop recipes!

So heres my question… im creating a mustard based carolina style bbq sauce, but instead of using store bought mustard that’s already made im wanting to use dry powdered mustard that i ordered from a pretty great spice company. The goal is to make about 16 oz of sauce so im trying to figure out about how much powdered mustard i would need to use??

Most recipes I’ve found use store bought stuff which is okay but since im creating my own recipe i much prefer everything from scratch. And since im not necessarily trying to first make a mustard and then turn it into a bbq sauce, im trying to figure what measurement of the dry mustard might work best.

All thoughts and ideas are welcome and appreciated!

Hi Joshua! I would love to be able to help with the answer you're looking for, but I think the easiest way to solve this (if you don't want to do store-bought) is to make the yellow mustard yourself + add to the sauce. You could test them side-by-side to see if it's worth the trouble. And worst case is you have some homemade mustard afterward. ;)
