Storage / Reheating Instructions For Nian Gao

Hello! What is the best time to make this recipe (the night before, or the day of?). I am making this right now for my son's Lunar New Year class celebration and the kids will be eating it 12+ hours later. What is the best way to store overnight and is reheating necessary?

Sorry, I'm not really sure. Maybe look up some matcha or taro flavored mochi cake/butter mochi recipes and see how they do it?

Making this the night before is perfectly fine. Once it is cooled to room temperature, cover and store at room temp for up to 3 days. If it is getting hard, you can microwave individual slices for 15 seconds to regain the chewy texture.
