How do you puree the butternut squash? Cut it up and roast and then puree the pieces? Or some other method? Thanks!

Great question. Here you could easily use canned squash but if you'd prefer to roast yourself I would follow our squash cooking guide here: https://food52.com/blog/27711-the-absolute-best-way-to-cook-butternut-squash.
I think roasting in cubes makes the most sense then I'd use a food processor and blitz until smooth.
