Hot Pepper Jelly - how do I use it?

A friend gave me a small jar of pepper jelly that she made. I have no idea what to use it for. Suggestions? I don’t think it goes on toast with butter haha

Hi Gnmorr!

We love a good homemade pepper jelly at F52! I have a couple of ideas for you:

Pepper thumb print cookies!
Dollop over pizza (either before or after cooking)
Use it when candying bacon for a salty, sweet and spicy moment

Honestly you could use it anywhere you'd use other fruit preserves in a recipe as a way to spice things up.

Hope this helps!

Learned how to make pepper jelly from a Georgia relative. She used to serve it with cream cheese on sandwiches or canapés.

I suggest you ask her for recommendations. For sure she has some inkling of its uses if she spent her time making it.

Personally I would also taste it and imagine what sort of foods I consume that it might accompany. Without having tasted it I would guess that pork might work well.

Best of luck.
