I buy fresh chicken sausages all the time, and most of the time it's done on the grill, because we like them browned and crispy They cook pretty quickly so keep an eye on them. I've also pan fried them covered in some water, covered and broiled them. I have frozen ones now (guess not so fresh anymore) but they're there for to open out of the casings to a saute for a quick ragu.
