You can start with six cups of whole wheat flour, then to it add three cups warm water. Stir, and then knead for 10 minutes. Put in a bowl, cover with warm water, and let rest for 20 minutes.
Put the bowl in a sink and knead until the water turns white. Drain off the water, cover again with water and knead until the water turns white. repeat until the water is clear and your arms are tired.
The dough is now a ball of wheat gluten, or raw seitan.
