I have a question about the ingredient "green tomatoes, small dice, about 1 cup" on the recipe "Butternut Squash Posole with Green Tomato Pico de Gallo" from thirschfeld. Are the green tomatoes tomatilloes or just less ripe tomatoes?

Less ripe, tart tomatoes. Now, in my opinion tomatillos do have a nice amount of tart to them, so they would probably work well here too!
